Gate-leg table

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Dark brown wooden table with a semicircular top made of several slats, the top slanted slightly. The table has two main legs with ornate spindles that are thicker in the middle and taper towards top and bottom. Two stretchers connect the main legs horizontally. A third leg, in the shape of an upside-down T, has two short legs that connect to curved feet. Two stretchers also connect this T-shaped leg to the main legs. The table appears to be made of wood and has a classic, traditional design, specifically a gate-leg table.
