Tumbler

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Clear glass tumbler with a wide mouth and a flat rim. The glass has vertical ridges on its body, and a band of engraved designs around the top. The designs on the band include a starburst pattern with lines radiating from a central point. Two identical floral patterns are on either side of the starburst, each consisting of two flowers connected by a curved stem with teardrop-shaped ends. The glass has a thick base with a decorative edge. The background is a plain gray color that gets lighter towards the bottom. "Tumbler" by unknown artist.
