Quilt, Star of Lemoyne pattern variation

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Black rectangular quilt with a repeating pattern of 64 colorful eight-pointed stars on a black background. The stars are formed by multi-colored fabric strips radiating from a square center. The stars are arranged in an 8x8 grid with black squares between the stars. A thin red border surrounds the quilt. The quilt is framed against a white background. This quilt appears to be made in the Lemoyne or Lone Star pattern, a variation of the Star of Lemoyne pattern.
