Duncan Phyfe

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The card table has a semi-oval top made of dark wood with a foldable flap on one long side. The tabletop surface features a wood grain pattern. Four legs, two sets of two, are positioned underneath the tabletop; they are connected by a central base. Each leg has a decorative design, with spiral and ridged details. Three curved legs extend downward from the central base, each ending in a metal claw-foot with a small wheel. The background is plain white. The card table is by Duncan Phyfe.
