The box sits on a plain background on top of a small stand with a ruler along the bottom. A small piece of paper with handwritten numbers is taped to the front of the stand. Small labels on the right and left corners of the box read "THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART" and "1923". The image is in black and white. "Lacquer Samples" by unknown artist.
