Elbow Defense (Couter)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Elbow Defense (Couter) by an unknown artist. The elbow defense is made of metal, predominantly gray with darker speckles across its surface. It consists of two main parts: a larger, rounded section and a smaller, more cylindrical section. The larger section is kidney-shaped, covering the outer part of the elbow, while the smaller section is positioned on the inner side. These two parts are connected by five rivets. The surface of the metal shows signs of wear and aging, with darker spots and patches scattered across it. The background of the image is a plain light grey color.
