Pair of Stirrups (Yob Chen)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a pair of gold-colored stirrups. The stirrups are made of metal and have a gold color with a darker patina. They are symmetrical and identical in shape and design. Each stirrup has an arched top with a dragon head facing outward at the top center. The stirrups are octagonal at the base, and the entire surface is decorated with intricate designs and patterns. The base and sides of the stirrups are covered in a repeating pattern of curving lines and shapes. The stirrups are set against a plain gray background. The overall design and craftsmanship suggest that the stirrups are of high quality and may be of Asian origin, by artist Yob Chen.
