Claymore

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The sword, titled "Claymore," features a long, dark brown wooden handle with a rounded pommel at the top; a wide, flat, silver-gray metal crossguard that extends from the base of the handle; and a long, narrow blade with an inscription etched into it. The crossguard has a decorative floral design on each end. The sword displays signs of wear with spots of discoloration and tarnish. A plain beige wall serves as the background.
