Partisan

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image is of a dagger titled "Partisan" by an unknown artist. The dagger has a long, narrow, pointed blade made of silver-colored metal. The blade is straight and tapered to a point at the tip. The crossguard is made of the same silver-colored metal and consists of two curved pieces that extend from either side of the blade. The left piece is shaped like a crescent moon, while the right piece features an ornate design with a shield-like shape in the center. The shield-like shape contains a diamond-shaped pattern with a smaller diamond inside. The hilt is wrapped in a tan-colored cord or fabric, possibly made of woven fibers. The background of the image is a solid light gray color.
