Brigandine Plate

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Brigandine Plate by its artist is a brown, rusted metal plate. The plate appears to be made of iron or steel and has a rough, uneven edge. It is roughly rectangular in shape, with one side being slightly longer than the other, and has a slight curve to it. The plate has several rows of rivet holes along its edges, each with four holes arranged in a square pattern. There are 19 rivet holes total, some of which have rusted rivets still in place. The surface of the plate is scratched and worn, with visible signs of aging and wear. The plate is set against a plain white background.
