Brigandine Plate

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Brigandine Plate by artist. Dark brown, rusty metal plate with a rough texture and visible signs of wear. The plate is shaped irregularly, with a pointed top and a curved right side that extends downwards. The left side is straight with a slight inward curve at the bottom. The edges of the plate have small rivets spaced at intervals. There are several darker spots and patches on the surface, indicating rust or corrosion. A small section on the lower left appears to have a grey material or residue. The plate is set against a plain light grey background.
