Socket from a Ceremonial Spearhead or Staff, Decorated with the Name of the Fourth Dalai Lama
Dark brown metal object with a tapered cylindrical shape. The top portion features a narrower cylinder with a small lip at the top. The bottom portion is wider and tapers down to a circular base. The object has gold and white writing etched into it. The writing appears to be in a non-Latin script. The gold writing is confined to the top portion and appears near the top and in two horizontal bands. The white writing runs vertically down the length of the bottom portion with some gold writing interspersed. A raised ring encircles the object between the two portions. The object is set against a gray background.
