石黒政常 Ishiguro Masatsune

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

A round, flat, black metal object with a textured surface. The object has a large central oval hole with a smaller oval shape inside, resembling a sword guard. Two smaller circular holes are on either side of the central hole. The bottom of the object has wavy lines resembling ocean waves, with small gold dots scattered throughout. On the right side, a bird of prey, likely a hawk or eagle, is depicted in gold and brown, perched on a rock with gold accents. The bird appears to be flying over the waves.
