Spear

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image depicts Spear by Alberto Giacometti. The spear has a long metal point with a sharp tip and two small fins on either side near the top, resembling a fish tail. The spearhead is affixed to a dark brown wooden shaft. A decorative metal piece resembling a bird or a curved figure is attached to the spear shaft below the spearhead. The metal spearhead and decorative piece have a weathered and aged appearance, with visible signs of wear and tear. The shaft features a gold band around it, approximately one-third of the way down from the spearhead. The background of the image features a plain gray color.
