Sword with Scabbard

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The sword with scabbard, created by Khan Muhammad, features a silver and blue handle with a curved top. The handle has a rounded rectangular base, leading to the curved portion shaped like a backward "S". A thick, flat silver piece encircles the top of the handle and features etched floral designs. A narrower, similarly designed piece is positioned underneath. The blade, partially visible, appears to be made of metal with an etched circular design on its base, closest to the handle. To the left of the handle is a scabbard with a dark brown leather body. The top of the scabbard is covered by a silver metal piece, adorned with an etched four-pointed design. A wide and a narrow silver band, both featuring etched patterns, encircle the top of the scabbard. A metal belt loop and clasp are present on the left. The background of the image is gray.
