The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Gauntlet Sword (Pata) is a dark-colored sword. The sword has a long, straight blade that extends downward out of view. A cage-like guard constructed of curved and straight metal bars covers the sword's handle and the area where the handle would meet the blade. The cage-like guard features vertical bars on top and a circular guard below that. The circular guard features two curved metal bars on either side that connect to a straight metal bar. The background is a plain gray color.
