Dagger (Katar)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Dagger (Katar) has a steel blade with a pointed tip and a straight edge on both sides. The blade is triangular in shape, tapering to a sharp point. Two long, thin, straight metal bars extend upwards from the top of the blade. A horizontal metal piece with a gold-colored design connects the two bars. The gold design features intricate patterns and is positioned in the middle of the horizontal piece, with one design above the other. The background is a plain light gray color.
