Dagger (Katar)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Dagger (Katar) by Indian. The dagger has a curved, single-edged blade that tapers to a point. The blade is dark gray with a slight sheen. It features a long, curved shape, becoming narrower towards the tip. The hilt is made of brass, with a distinctive 'H'-shaped guard. Two curved prongs extend upwards from the guard. A decorative gold-colored metal piece adorns the base of the blade where it meets the hilt. The background is a plain off-white color.
