Buckle

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Metal buckle with a dark patina and gold-colored accents, featuring a symmetrical design with two identical parts that are mirror images of each other. The buckle has a roughly oval shape with a line down the middle. Each half has a protruding, ridged curved shape on one side. The ridged curved shapes are on the outside. The rest of the buckle is smooth with small indents around the edge, and two small circular indentations on the inside of each half. The gold-colored metal on the right half is cracked and worn. The background is light blue-grey.
