Rowel Spur

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Silver-colored metal spur with a twisted shank. The shank is smooth with a slight sheen. A rowel, a starburst shaped wheel with sharp points, is attached to the end. The spur has a neck with a smooth surface leading to a U-shaped heel with a decorative curve at the top. A short chain is attached to one side with a bow-shaped piece and to the heel on the other. The background is a flat gray surface. The spur is titled "Rowel Spur".
