Partisan

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows a Partisan by an unknown artist. The weapon has a long, pointed blade with a wide, flat base that tapers to a point at the tip. The blade is gold-colored with a darker color at the tip and has an etched design. The blade is shaped like a spearhead with two curved protrusions on either side near the base. There are two small circular holes on either side of the base of the blade. The handle is dark-colored, possibly black, with a gold-colored metal piece near the top. The background of the image is a solid light gray color.
