Sword Guard (<i>Tsuba</i>)

The object is square shaped with rounded corners and a dark gold color. The object has a darker patina in several areas. There are three holes cut out of the object in the center; one long narrow oval shaped hole in the middle and two kidney bean-shaped holes on either side. There are etchings on the object of a tree on the top left with a bird on the tree and a branch extending to the right. There are also etchings on the object of falling flowers and leaves. The etchings are silver colored.
