Armorer's Shaping Stake

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image depicts the Armorer's Shaping Stake by Joseph H. Sharp. The object is a wooden stump with several metal tools. The stump is cylindrical and approximately one-third the height of the tools, with a rough and weathered surface showing signs of wear and tear. The tools appear to be made of metal and are placed on and around the stump. One tool has a long, T-shaped piece with a curved handle at the top and a flat surface at the bottom. A smaller metal tool with a curved end is positioned to the left of the T-shaped piece. Two smaller metal tools are placed in front of the stump, one with a flat end and the other with a pointed end. Behind the T-shaped piece, a long, thin metal tool with a pointed end is positioned. The background of the image is a plain gray color.
