Armorer's Hammer

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows Armorer's Hammer by an unknown artist. The hammer's head is made of dark-brown metal. The head is T-shaped, with the top end curved downwards slightly and the bottom end longer than the top end and flat. The handle is made of wood and is darker on top with visible scratches; it gets lighter towards the bottom. The handle is cylindrical, and the top end is narrower than the bottom end where it would be gripped. A small silver circle with a raised rim is at the top of the hammer where the head meets the handle.
