Segawa Kikunojo III as a Woman Standing under a Maple Tree in the Autumn by Katsukawa Shunshō. A woman stands with her body facing left and her head turned down. She wears a kimono with a brown under-kimono and salmon outer kimono with yellow flowers. The kimono has a wide salmon and yellow obi tied behind her back. Her hair is pulled back with a brown headband. She holds a sword in her right hand and her left hand grabs the wrist of a kneeling man. The man wears a kimono similar in design but in shades of brown and salmon. He kneels with his knees apart, his body facing right, and his head turned left. His hair has a topknot. He has no shirt on and his nipples are visible. His left arm is bent at the elbow and his hand is open near his face. His right arm is extended back towards the woman. Behind the pair is a tree trunk and autumn leaves. The background is tan.
