The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The painting depicts a scene with a river flowing through a landscape. A man with orange skin and a yellow head sits on the bank of the river. He wears a white loincloth with a blue border and a blue cloth around his waist. His hands are raised to his face. Behind him to the right, a purple chariot with a black and yellow striped canopy and spiked wheels faces left. A figure wearing yellow sits in the chariot and holds a whip. The riverbank rises behind them, with green grass and trees on the left and a brown hill on the right. In the background, there are more hills, trees, and a tan building with towers on the right. The sky is blue. Several figures are in the river. The painting has a pink border with a black inner border.
