Snuff bottle with stopper

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Round, white snuff bottle with stopper, made of stone or ceramic material. The bottle has a short neck and a small, rounded stopper on top. The body of the bottle is bulbous with a smooth surface that reflects light. There are several small holes around the middle of the bottle, likely for ventilation or decoration. A number "964" is printed in white on the lower front of the bottle. The background is dark, and a small white ruler is placed in front of the bottle for scale. The artist and title of the snuff bottle are unknown.
