"Fragment" by an unknown artist depicts a black and white image of a dark-colored rock or stone fragment with rough edges. The object is angled diagonally across the frame, with its top edge pointing towards the upper right corner. The surface of the fragment is dark gray or black, with lighter gray areas around the edges where it appears to be broken off. There are some lighter-colored veins or cracks visible on the surface. A small number ".117" is handwritten in black ink below the fragment. The background of the image is a plain off-white color.
