Mirror with Decoration of Paradise of the Immortals

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Round, flat, silver-colored mirror with a raised pattern. The pattern consists of a series of concentric circles. The outermost circle is smooth. The next circle has a repeating pattern of hexagons, each containing a flower-like design. A smaller circle in the center contains more raised, floral patterns. A small hole is in the very center. There are two lengths of dark purple cord threaded through the hole, twisted together, and hanging down. The mirror is titled "Mirror with Decoration of Paradise of the Immortals" by an unknown artist.
