Lobed tripod cauldron (Liding)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Lobed tripod cauldron by Liding is green and made of bronze. It has a large bowl-shaped body with a wide mouth and three short legs. Two curved handles protrude from either side of the rim. The cauldron features intricate etchings on its body that include spirals and geometric shapes. The etchings are lighter than the green patina covering the rest of the surface. Brown patches are visible on the surface, particularly around the base and handles. The background is gray with white at the bottom. A shadow is cast to the right.
