Black lacquer container with two distinct painted sides. The right side features two Japanese women in traditional clothing walking together, with one holding an object; they are painted in shades of pink and orange. The left side depicts a house gate with a red lantern hanging near it, and a door with a grid pattern and yellow background. Both sides have decorative elements and are presented against a black background. The container has a curved top edge and a beaded bottom edge, by Shibata Zeshin.
