In the background, trees are on a hill leading up to mountains. The sky appears foggy and gray. The painting features two lines of black Chinese calligraphy in the upper right corner and one line of black calligraphy along the upper left corner. The calligraphy is accompanied by four red seals, two on the top and two on the bottom. The painting by Shitao (Zhu Ruoji) is titled "Drunk in Autumn Woods".
