Vase

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The vase, by an unknown artist, is a bulbous, ceramic vessel with a narrow opening at the top. The body of the vase is a pale greenish-blue color with a cracked glaze effect in a darker brown. The cracks in the glaze are thin and spread across the entire surface. The vase has a narrow neck that flares slightly at the top. The base of the vase is round and flat with a dark brown color. The background of the image is a gradient from dark gray to light gray. The vase casts a small shadow on the surface below it.
