The image depicts a scene from a play by Katsukawa Shunjō. Two men are shown, one on the floor and one standing over him. The man on the floor wears a yellow kimono with a plaid pattern on the sleeves and hem. His right hand is raised with palm facing outward, and he holds a sword in his left hand. The standing man wears a kimono with a black, yellow, and orange plaid pattern. He has his right knee on the other man's back and his left leg bent behind him. The standing man's right arm is raised, and his left arm is wrapped around the other man's waist. The background features a beige wall with a window and a curtain on the left side. The floor is also beige. The image includes Japanese characters written vertically on the right side.
