Jar with small loop handles

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image titled "Jar with small loop handles" by an unknown artist depicts a rounded jar made of ceramic or clay material. The jar's body is bulbous and roughly spherical in shape. It has a narrow opening at the top which appears to have a small lip around the edge. Two small loop handles are positioned on either side of the jar, near the top. The surface of the jar features a textured pattern created by thin, closely spaced lines that cover the entire body. The image is in black and white. The jar sits on a flat surface, casting a shadow to the left. The background is dark towards the top and gradually lightens towards the bottom.
