Case (Inrō) with Design of Semi-Circular Bridge (obverse); Crows in Flight Beside Pagoda (reverse)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Two round, gold-colored objects with black and white braided straps. The objects have a semi-circular shape and resemble a traditional Japanese inrō. The obverse side of the left object features a scene with a semi-circular bridge. The bridge appears to be a curved, flat structure spanning across a body of water. Trees, buildings, and birds are on either side. The reverse side of the right object depicts several black crows in flight beside a pagoda. A large red semi-circular bridge is in the foreground.
