Inrō with Noh Masks

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Gold-colored, rectangular inrō with rounded corners and a red cord threaded through a small, round bead at the top. The inrō features two Noh masks: a black and white one on the left and a red one on the right. A small, gold-colored toggle with a carved design is attached to the cord above the inrō. The toggle depicts a figure leaning on a scroll. The background is a plain beige color.
