Case (Inrō) with Design of Scattered Pawlonia Blossoms

Cylindrical case with rounded edges and flat top and bottom. The case is segmented into stacked horizontal bands. Bands are made of different materials with variation in texture, color and pattern. Bands contain a variety of designs including smooth gold, stippled gold on black, gold on blue background and light blue on gold background. A flower-like motif occurs with radiating petal-like design in all bands. Bands are arranged with similar bands on each segment; from top to bottom the band design order is: stippled gold, smooth blue with flowers, smooth gold, gold on black background with flowers, smooth blue and stippled gold on black with flowers. A braided cord handle is on top.
