Covered vase

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Covered vase by an unknown artist is a white jade vase with a domed lid. The vase is on a short black stand. The body of the vase is elongated and rounded with a wide base that tapers outwards. The vase has two protruding handles on either side. The handles are curved and end in mythical creature heads. The lid matches the rounded shape of the top of the vase and has a knob on top. The background is dark on the top half transitioning to light on the bottom half.
