The Tea jar by Shofu Bunryu is a black ceramic jar with a wide body that tapers slightly at the bottom. The jar has a short neck and a small mouth with a thin rim. The majority of the jar is covered in a glossy black glaze. A horizontal line encircles the jar approximately one-third of the way up from the bottom, where the glaze appears to have been cut off. The background of the image is white.
