Portrait of a man with a stern expression. He has black hair styled in a traditional Japanese manner, with a portion of it pulled back and secured. His hair is adorned with a decorative pin. The man's face is predominantly white with red makeup around his eyes and cheeks. He wears a kimono with a red base color and a pattern of white, green, and yellow shapes. The portrait is oval-shaped and set against a background resembling a woven basket or a window with a brown and gray checkered pattern. The background of the image is beige with Japanese writing in black ink on either side of the portrait. Two small seals are present at the bottom left.
