Wedding ensemble

Herman Rossberg

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The wedding ensemble is sage green with gold patterned fabric. The ensemble consists of a jacket and a skirt. The jacket has long sleeves and stands open at the front to reveal the skirt. A band of gold patterned fabric goes down the center front of the jacket and around the high neckline. The same gold fabric is on the cuffs. The jacket's silhouette is fitted at the waist, flared at the hips, and asymmetrical with peplum at back. The floor-length skirt has a pleated front and an overskirt gathered on the right side. A wide panel of the gold patterned fabric runs down the center front of the skirt. The background is white.
