Stater: Head of Athena (obverse); Lion (reverse)

Cleveland Museum of Art

The coin on the left features the head of a woman with her hair pulled back and adorned with wings or a wing-like structure on top. A line of raised dots or a border encircles the top portion of the coin. The woman's head is depicted in profile, facing left. The coin on the right features the body of a lion, likely walking or running to the right. The lion's mane is visible around its neck and back. Letters are stamped along the bottom edge of the coin. Both coins have a dark metallic color.
