The bottom right section of the shield is white. A bird, possibly a swan, is above the shield with wings spread. Two floral wreaths are on either side of the shield. A banner below the shield reads "IN MEDIO TUTISSIMUS IBIS". The name "Thomas Cary" is written in cursive below the banner. The background of the bookplate is off-white with a darker off-white border. The bookplate is signed "Callender, sculp" in small letters.
