Above the man's head are the words "Hector Berlioz" and the years "1803" and "1869". There are several small figures and a ribbon at the bottom of the medallion. The right side depicts a woman sitting on the ground with her right knee bent. She is wearing a long dress and has her right arm around a musical instrument. There is a bust of a man behind her and several plants and figures around her. The background of the image is a gradient from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
