Urn Convertible into Candle Stick

Cleveland Museum of Art

The urn convertible into a candlestick, created by Pierre-Raymond Duchesne, features an elongated, narrow body with a flared mouth. The body of the urn is brown and shaped like an elongated oval. Two golden handles are on either side. The base has a dark-colored circular base with a golden rope design around the edge. The urn's stand has a golden platform supporting a center column with three curved legs with flower-shaped feet. A golden band encircles the urn, adorned with a ram's head in the front. The urn appears to be made of brass or bronze. A decorative border of grooves encircles the mouth of the urn. The background is gray, darker at the top.
