Pair of Flower Pots (Pots de fleurs)

Bourg-la-Reine Factory

Cleveland Museum of Art

Two white ceramic pots with floral designs and handles on the sides. The pots are identical and symmetrical. The pots are white with a wide mouth and slightly tapering bodies. They have a blue line at the top and bottom edges. A green and yellow leafy pattern encircles the top of each pot. Each pot features a floral design in the center, consisting of pink roses, blue and yellow flowers, and green leaves, arranged in a symmetrical pattern. The handles are made of ceramic, shaped like animal heads with ribbons around their necks. The handles are positioned on either side of each pot. The pots have three small feet at the bottom, colored pink. The background is dark at the top and gradually lightens towards the bottom, with shadows cast by the pots.
