Circular Plaquette with Frieze of Mannerist Figures
Circular bronze plaquette with a frieze of six Mannerist figures. The plaquette has a raised outer border with scrolling foliate designs. A raised inner border encircles a central raised circular panel. Six nude figures in dynamic poses are arranged in a radial pattern. A central circular medallion contains a classical male head in profile facing left with short curly hair. The figures are depicted in shallow relief with some areas appearing more worn than others. The background transitions from black at the top to gray at the bottom.
