Benedetto Pistrucci

Cleveland Museum of Art

Gold coin with a woman's head on the left side, facing left. She has long hair that is mostly covered by a headscarf. The words around the top of the coin read, from right to left: REGINA, FID: DEF:, BRITT, GRA, and VICTORIA. There are more letters at the bottom of the coin, but they are illegible. The coin is shown on the left side of a two-image set. Gold coin with a man on a horse on the right side of the two-image set. The man has long hair and is shirtless. The man holds a sword in his right hand, and the horse's reins in his left hand. The horse rears up on its hind legs with its front legs extended to the right. Under the horse is a dead dragon on its back, with its head on the right, wings spread to the sides, and its tail curled around to the left. The year 1893 appears at the bottom of the coin. The coin has a decorative border.
