Siddhartha at the Bodhi Tree
The sculpture depicts Siddhartha sitting under a tree known as the Bodhi Tree. The figure of Siddhartha, or Buddha, is on the left side; he wears a robe and has an oval halo behind his head. Siddhartha's hands are positioned in front of him. He stands barefoot on a base that has a rough edge. Behind him, on the left, is a smaller figure. The Bodhi Tree occupies the top center. To the right of Siddhartha is a pedestal. On the right side are several figures; some appear troubled and others look on. The right side figures wear necklaces and wraps; some are bare chested. The sculpture has a gray background and sits on a dark base.
